My roles in life are a tattletale as to my age. Being a grandmother of 13 and great grandmother of 1, tells the tale. My baby boys turning 35 this year, assumes, I am my age.
My resume is a mile long, with all of the different jobs that I have had in this life. Even if I could hide the early ones they always want to know your education status and what years you graduated from what.
But how old is old and how do you feel?
Forty seems to be the big one, as our doctors look out for us more after forty with the beginnings of regular testing that hope to avoid later issues.
I began to dislike over 50 commercials when I was over 50. They insinuated that I was getting old and I should be more careful of myself.
Now I'm at that age where I get senior discounts on my meals at restaurants and am not afraid to ask for them, and they don't check my ID.
How do you feel about your age?
How do you feel?
I feel great! Now some days my attitude is better than others. But on the overall, I couldn't be happier in my life. It is not that ecstatic happiness that your feel in euphoria, of being in love, just a satisfaction that knows I have made it this far.
When I was young and first married I really had a time experiencing my life. After the loss of my eight month old baby, when I was 26 years old, life often didn't seem worth living. I lost of lot of life and time working to find a reason to go on living and in a haze of pain and agony,
When I realized I had so many reasons to continue, I came back to life and decided not to go back there again. So much time has passed since then. And, it fact, I have at least 17 reasons in my family to look forward to the future of their development, and my own. That is not to mention the many dear friends that I find so much pleasure in having.
What is your story? How young do you feel?
I remember asking my aunt when she was 40, how old she really felt? She said she still felt 18. I feel more like a person of mid-thirties in energy, most of the time.
Are you a young person who feels they have wisdom beyond their age?
Are you an older person who feels life is such a struggle?
I feel I have earned any wisdom and insight about myself that I may have. I can't help that think life is adventure, for which, we need to be awake and enjoy. Yes, there are many struggles, but appreciation of what we do have, goes a long way.
What do you think? I'm trying to give lots of choices in this poll, so it will meet you needs. If you have story to tell about your feelings about aging, or what is necessary to stay young, please feel free to share.
